Large Scale Growth Continues in the Boston Legal Market – Nutter Adds Law Firm BRL Law Group to Strengthen Corporate Bench

As legal industry growth continues to flourish, and the appetite for large scale acquisitions remains strong at law firms across the country, Boston-based Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP recently announced that they brought aboard the BRL Law Group LLC (BRL), a highly regarded corporate boutique law firm based in Wellesley, Ma.
By joining forces, Nutter strengthens their practice with the addition of all four lawyers, including partners Tom Rosedale, Suzanne Hamel and Mark Burgiel, and counsel Kate MacGregor. BRL provided counsel for mergers and acquisitions, private-equity deals and other corporate and securities work for nearly 20 years. The group complements Nutter’s strengths in corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private and venture capital transactions, representation of publicly traded companies, and general corporate matters. So how did this come together? Tom Rosedale acknowledged that they weren’t actively searching for a deal. “Our practice has been very successful, with loyal clients and steady growth. But, in order to continue to provide the level of service to which our clients had become accustomed, we either needed to build staff or join a larger firm that could support us.” Rosedale credits Mestel & Company’s Mary Rosenfeld D’Eramo with introducing the idea of joining a larger firm, identifying the opportunity with Nutter, bringing the two firms together and assisting throughout the process, helping to move the deal to completion.
