Amy Berenson Mallow specializes in legal talent management, focusing on partners, associates, in-house counsel, and law firm management needs. She handles all aspects of attorney recruiting and leads executive-level searches for Am Law 100 – 200 and regional firms to enhance the leadership and improve efficiencies across the business suite, including the areas of marketing, business development, technology, human resources, recruiting, diversity, professional development, finance and firm administration.
Amy joined Mestel & Company in 2018 and brings more than 25 years of experience in legal recruiting, legal career coaching and consulting, law student professional development, and the practice of law. With her extensive background in working closely with professionals and organizations within the legal ecosystem, Amy has a holistic understanding of the legal profession, and the operational needs and business challenges of law firms in today’s competitive market.
Her legal recruiting experience includes serving as a Managing Director at Major, Lindsey & Africa and Manager of Professional Development at Proskauer Rose, and as a Principal at MallowSossin. In academia, she has served as the Assistant Dean of Career Services at UCLA School of Law and Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services at Georgetown University Law Center. She has provided career coaching and consulting services for executives and attorneys at The Shannon Group and Mallow Consulting. Her experience as a practicing attorney includes working as a Staff Attorney for the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis.
Amy earned her J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and B.A. magna cum laude in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College. She has written a number of articles on legal talent management, is a co-author of several chapters in The Lawyer’s Career Management Handbook: Your Bridge to a Satisfying Career (West Publishing, 2010), and speaks frequently at local and national organizations. She is a Certified Master Coach from the Behavioral Coaching Institute. She is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). She has also completed coaching training from the Coaches Training Institute and American Society for Training and Development.
Amy enjoys spending time with her daughter, visiting museums, wine tasting, and exercising at the gym.
